Design Modern Office Imprinting Indigenous Culture

Like a lot of Vietnamese enterprises, APEC has chosen a design of creative office for comfortable spaces to its personnel.

Architectural principle of estimated space

The dimension of the APEC office is 77m x 31m, so the design team uses the architectural principle of estimated space by creating false ceilings and functional sub-areas, as well as creating a new style for the workplace to separate the space and other decoration details. Stepping in the office, people will recognize all sub-areas clearly. That effect gives a sense of a cozy space, not an infinity one. People working here have belonging feeling to specific space then being stable, confidence to work against infinite feelings to a non-stop one.

Use modern language to express traditional decoration materials

Offices of Google, Apple, or other well-known global companies are usually great inspirations for others to replicate. APEC Investment Co. JSC definitely wants to have a dream office like other giant but their approach is very unique. The manager clearly aims toward a modern, simple space but have touch of indigenous Vietnamese culture. “ We are an international company and we want to have our own identity” – said the manager

In the 3D design plan, AFA architects have selected a lot of materials and images inspiring Vietnamese culture as decoration for entire space, such as bamboo tables and chairs, bamboo blind curtain, decorative banana, ornamental bamboo, lotus,

wall paintings as propganda … This indicate a smaller version of Vietnamese society. People working here will feel something familiar, friendly and reminding about local culture and perhaps their childhood and hometown where they grow up. Creating an emotional space is great success by AFA architects.
