Let's explore why the concepts of balance are viewed as a contributor to high achievements in the long-existing Eastern culture.

Interior office design ensuring Eastern culture’s concepts of balance is one of the important categories that AfA decided to invest in and implement among other projects of 2019.

What is considered balance in Eastern culture?

The culture of the East has been established a long time ago and consists of several attributes. From the Eastern perspective, balance in interior office design involves the correlation among many different factors, which both contradict and supplement one another to form a sustainable and exclusive space. Among those factors, AfA Design has based on the Eastern core concept of balance to identify the key features to demonstrate in our design as follows:

The balance between globalization and localization.

The balance between technology and sustainability.

The balance between stillness and movement.

The balance between tradition and creativity.

Balancing globalization and localization in the office space

In order to achieve balance between globalization and localization in a design, a number of factors must be ensured, including openness, perfectionism, attention to details, materials and arrangement of furniture. On one hand, it is important to create an environment that promotes connection, with universal language and worldwide vision. On the other hand, the work needs to be recognizable, representing the core values of the corporate, as well as of the region and the culture in which it is built. The globalization factor shall not contradict but supplements localization to form a modern, novel office design that reflects the corporate culture.

As in a recent office design project by AFA Design, materials such as stained glass, granite, led, etc. were nicely combined to bring into existence a minimalist yet cutting-edge office for a global corporation, and at the same time preserve the distinguished culture of the business.

Balancing technology and sustainability

Technology has been constantly changing every day, posing a great challenge to several industries, among which interior office design is not an exception. So as to avoid the scenario where an office space becomes obsolete, the design must ensure adaptability in line with technology advancement, which involves changes in equipment, furniture and business technology in corporate activities. It is therefore crucial that the office design can be modified in response to changes and at the same time ensure sustainability in order avoid disintegration of its structure.

The balance between traditions and creativity

It is not easy to make an interior office design both conventional and creative as creativity often goes with novelty and modern practice. Despite that fact, creativity and tradition have always been present in all offices designed by AfA, either as two separate factors or in a combination. The tradition here indicates business culture and is reflected in closed areas like meeting rooms, while creative areas such as restroom, café and staff's working space mean to offer diverse experiences and generate motivation.

Based on the Eastern core concepts of balance, AfA Design has chosen these criteria to include in the interior office design so as to bring customers the highest value – for the good of humans. Let’s expect more projects by AfA this 2019 to see how well the balance factor is displayed in the most exclusive works of architecture.
